This is a course complete with lesson plans and activities for teaching some very basic functions that a student may need immediately on arrival in an English –speaking country, or even a country where the level of English as a second language is quite high.
It is a 12-hour program, tutored 30 minutes daily, 3 days week and completes in 2 months. It can be covered in shorter duration with longer class and higher frequency.
English is universal language and most commonly used in commerce and in travel industry. Survival English is designed for a tourist, student of someone who moves from non – English speaking country to an English – speaking country. Starting from formation of basic sounds, phonetics, we build words into vocabulary. Lessons include how to identify and introduce oneself, explaining relationships, expressing personal needs, shopping for basic necessities, asking for directions, seeking help, offering help, saying greetings, bidding farewells, etc.
The student will learn how to introduce oneself, speak language needed to travel, get ticket, get through immigration and customs, make hotel reservations, exchange gifts, etc.
Student will also learn what to say when you do not understand someone, how to order food in restaurant, ask directions, give instructions to cab driver, use subway or public transportations, buy food, get groceries, etc.
